The Director General of the Immigration and Citizenship Agency, Mr. Ahmed Said Mohamed, today inaugurated a training session in Nairobi focused on document verification and investigation. Officers from the Immigration Agencies of Somalia and Kenya, as well as investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), are participating in the training.
DG Ahmed Said first expressed his gratitude to the Norwegian government for playing a significant role in facilitating and supporting this training. He also encouraged the participants to make the most of this learning opportunity, as the sessions are being taught by foreign instructors with vast experience and knowledge.
The Director General of Kenya’s Immigration Agency, Mrs. Evelyn Cheluger, emphasized the importance of improving the document investigation skills of investigators, which contributes to the progress made in verifying travel documents.
The Norwegian Ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Gunnar Andreas, who also spoke at the opening ceremony, reaffirmed Norway’s commitment to supporting Somalia and the strong cooperation with the Immigration and Citizenship Agency.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the Head of the CID, Col. Muhudin Ahmed Osman, who spoke about the importance of developing document investigation skills, noting that CID investigators will greatly benefit from this training
